Record 4.1 Million Electronic College Applications Processed by XAP Corporation
CULVER CITY, CA – JANUARY 10, 2011
XAP Corporation, the nation’s leading online application developer, processed over 4.1 million electronic college admissions applications last year, an annual increase of over 10%, for its colleges and university applications. Of these applications, over 107,000 were processed on November 30th alone, the last day of the traditional college application cycle. Both are records for the company, which has processed over 20 million applications in its history.
“One of the requirements of accomplishing the President’s goal of becoming number one in college degree attainment by 2020 is an easy-to-use, technologically-efficient college application process that increases access for everyone,” said J. Michael Thompson, CEO of XAP. “Our electronic college application process provides just that, and in combination with our National Application Center makes it easier for anyone to apply to college or university regardless of where they live, or wish to go to school.”
XAP Corporation pioneered the development of the electronic college application and comprehensive one-stop college access portals more than 10 years ago. The company’s design allows students to pre-populate common portions of the college application from their portfolios enabling the student to concentrate on the institution-specific portions and reduce the cumbersome repetitive nature of the college application process. Eliminating repetition addresses the major barrier most students face in completing their college application.
XAP Corporation (www.xap.com) is the industry leader in college access and career success products. The company has developed and hosts 25 statewide and regional college access and career portals, built and supports nearly 800 college and university applications, and more than 25,000 schools and agencies across North America in helping over four million students and adults reach their educational and career goals each year. XAP products are accessible to over 50% of the U.S. population through statewide and regional college access portals, school and district sites, and state and federal workforce centers.
