XAP Increases Visibility & Availability of College Applications by More Than One Million Students
CULVER CITY, CA – SEPTEMBER 30, 2010
XAP Corporation increases the visibility of electronic college applications to more than one million more students, with the launch of a new feature that allows student users of the industry-leading Choices® Planner product to submit to nearly 1,000 college and university applications directly from the product into XAP’s National Application Center.
“For high schools, adding college applications makes Choices Planner an even more valuable tool to enable and bolster career and college readiness initiatives for schools and districts,” said J. Michael Thompson, XAP’s CEO.
“For colleges, it means more applicants, many who are highly qualified and sought after,” added Thompson. “Using the personal information stored in Choices to pre-populate the application makes it easy for the student to complete their application and will lead high application volumes for institutions using our electronic application.”
XAP’s Choices products serve over 8,000 middle and high schools in North America and have remained the premier career and college readiness tools in the industry over the past 20 years.
Part of Reach Farther 2020 Program
The enhancement is part of the company’s Reach Farther 2020 initiative in support of the Obama Administration’s goal for the country becoming the world leader in proportion of adults holding at least a 2 year degree by 2020.
“The 2020 goals require all of us to think about how to increase career and college readiness in dramatic ways,” said Thompson. “By adding the ability to apply to college directly from our Choices Planner product, we’ve taken the first step of many in making the entire process of developing career interests and translating them into educational plans more integrated, and student-centric.”
