XAP’s Judy Chappelear Elected to Postsecondary Electronic Standards Council’s Board of Directors

CULVER CITY, CA – APRIL 19, 2010

Judy Chappelear, Vice President of Solutions for XAP Corporation, has been named to the Postsecondary Electronic Standards Council (PESC)’s board of directors for a two-year term. The election was made earlier this month at the annual PESC summit held in Washington D.C.

“I am delighted to become a PESC board member, especially given the area of data standards becoming increasingly important under the Obama administration’s education policy,” said Judy Chappelear. “XAP clients have been recognized as leaders in the electronic transcript movement for several years, and this election to the PESC board is just another way that XAP can contribute its expertise toward making standards-based electronic transcripts and applications a reality across the country.”

XAP developed and implemented electronic transcript systems for College Foundation of North Carolina, California Statewide Electronic Exchange, and the Georgia Student Finance Commission/University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents, all of which have been recognized as the PESC Best Practice Winners in the last two years. The three systems, each representing a different facet: high school-to-college; high-school-to-scholarship program and college; and college-to-college, and other XAP transcript systems have processed over five million electronic transcripts to date.

Since being the first in 2003 to introduce a statewide electronic exchange, XAP has demonstrated how to transform the complex paper-oriented transcript tasks to electronic exchanges that are reliable, efficient, cost-effective, and versatile for data analysis. “At XAP, we like to think the recent PESC recognition for our client implementations is also recognition of our proven success in executing the important on-the-ground tactics and being part of a comprehensive online network of hundreds of participating schools,” said Chappelear.
